Day 1: Marrakech – Boumalne Dades

On the first day of the tour, pick up will take place at your Riad or Hotel. You will meet your guide and driver, they have been waiting for you to arrive and excited to meet you. Leaving Marrakech, you will be crossing the High Atlas Mountains with an altitude of 2260 M in the Tichka Pass. This is a wonderful way to start your journey. Tichka has the most breathtaking views of the Atlas. Have that camera ready. From here you will drive to the most famous Kasbah in Morocco, Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah. The fortified village and Kasbah is situated in the hills along the Ounila River. Ait Ben Haddou has been an UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1987. Many films have been produced in the Kasbah including: The Message, The Mummy, Alexander and Babel. After the Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah tour, you will have lunch in a lovely restaurant with a panoramic backdrop. From here you will head to the city of Ouarzazate which is known as the Hollywood of Morocco because of the Cinema Studios and Museums. Many famous movies where filmed here such as Cleopatra, Kingdom of Heaven, Gladiator, Kundun & Game of Thrones. Continue to the extraordinary Kasbah of Telouet. Continuing through Skour’s Oasis of Palm Groves, then to the Valley of Roses. This is clearly a place to stop and smell the roses. Many little shops to purchase all kinds of rose infused beauty items. You will carry on to the town of Boumalne Dades where you will stay for your first night. 

Day 2: Boumalne Dades – Merzouga   After breakfast, uncovering today’s mysteries will begin by following the road of a thousand Kasbahs, heading to Merzouga dunes. You will be passing Tinghir, visiting Todra Valley groves and stroll the Todra Gorge. The limestone cliffs carved an opening through the Todra Assif (River), its spectacular peaks seem to dive to the bed of the river. The peaks rise to 300 M above Todra. Stroll the gorge, taking in its wondrous glory, fresh air, and plenty of photo opportunity. After a stop for lunch you will continue to the palm groves of Tinhdad, Touroug and Erfoud. The excursion will continue to Merzouga where you will enjoy your next mode of transportation, your camel. Your camel will slowly carry you through the dunes in the heart of the Erg Chebbi, in the Sahara Desert. While riding through the peaceful, breathtaking and mysterious dunes of the Sahara, you will have the opportunity to take some of the most spectacular pictures. The sunset is typically a breathtaking experience as the colors of the dunes explode into a magnificent feast for the eyes. An absolute delight for the professional and amateur photographer. The dunes stand in all its glory with the highest elevation of 150M. We will spend the evening in the desert in our tents just as the indigenous nomads live. Tonight, take in the evening Moroccan sky it is sure to leave a permanent mark in your memory. At times it is so beautiful you will never be able to find the correct words to describe what you have seen. 

Day 3 - Merzouga - Marrakech

Early this morning your journey will begin with a breathtaking sunrise in the desert. The sun rises behind the dunes from the Algerian boarder. After breakfast you will head towards the DRA Valley through Rissani and Nkuob. If its market day in Rissani, a stop by the Souk is always a fun stop. When you are through meandering around the Rissani souk you will head towards Marrakech stopping for lunch in Ouarzazate and photo opportunities along the way.
